Kunstenaar Linda Blake

"Linda Blake was born in Wales in the 1960s. Although she spent some time in the Middle East as a child when her father was posted there for his work, most of her childhood was spent in the rural countryside of the west of England and she believes that her love of nature and space, which she learnt at that time, still inspires her work today.Linda Blake was encouraged throughout her schooling by a succession of enthusiastic art teachers and, when she finished her education, she joined a graphic design company, working particularly on layouts of advertising and corporate brochures. Although she enjoyed the work and, again, felt that she took from it a better understanding of the importance of design and colour in creating an overall look, she found that she was stifled by the need always to work with text and concepts supplied by other people, and took the decision to become a freelance designer at the time of her marriage.In conjunction with bringing up her young family, she has now created a successful design consultancy and her work has appeared in many different formats around the world."
