"Max Carter was born and brought up in Cornwall, in the United Kingdom, and has established a considerable reputation for his contemporary artwork and design. As a child, his enthusiasm for art was obvious from a very young age and he was nurtured in this enthusiasm both by his grandmother, who was a talented amateur painter, and by a succession of art and pottery teachers at school.As a child, and during his degree course, Max Carter was noted particularly for the realism and traditional style of his artwork. The tutors with whom he worked believed strongly that all artists require a thorough background knowledge of technical artistic skills and Max Carter is particularly grateful to them for this emphasis now that his work has taken him down much more contemporary design paths.After completing his degree, Max Carter worked for an advertising and Art & Design agency, exhibiting his own work independently on occasion through galleries in London and the West Country. His work has been so successful that he has been able to turn freelance and, working in a variety of media, he has established a firm reputation for himself as a contemporary designer and artist of great talent."
