Kunstenaar Nadja Naila Ugo

"Nadja Naila Ugo was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1961 and grew up in the city. She loved drawing from the very earliest age and even remembers, in kindergarten at the age of three, being asked by her girlfriends to help them with their own drawings! Throughout her childhood she drew and sketched, working on her style and practising by copying artwork from books and magazines.Entirely self-taught, she works now mainly in acrylic, watercolour and mixed media. Her paintings and designs have been exhibited around South and North America and she has received several awards for them.Nadja Naila Ugo loves music, particularly classical, ‘lounge’ and techno rhythms. She also loves to travel. She takes her themes and styles from the world around her, where she is inspired particularly by the beauty of contemporary design, music and the vibrant urban life of Brazil."
