Oriental Memories Sushila Dahan's transparent work is delicate and refined. Rather than an invitation to travel, her canvases are a metaphor for the philosophy of the East and the art implicit in the tea ceremony. Framed by the calligraphy, the word as a vehicle for thought, teapots and white or ivory bowls seem to levitate in a circle of varying colours, where the tones derive from the paper, the relief from the collages. The composition is exact, avoiding excess, and the symbols are plain to those who make the effort to read them.
