Kunstenaar Thomas Creswick

"Thomas Creswick was born in Sheffield in 1811 and was taught by Joseph Vincent Barber of Birmingham.He went to London in 1828 and from this date he began to exhibit at The Royal Academy, The British Institute and at Suffolk Street and he continued to send works there until his death in 1869. In 1851, he became a member of The Royal Academy, after having been an associate for nine years.Creswick painted almost exclusively English or Welsh landscapes and he particularly liked to incorporate water into them. He often included figures or animals in his pictures and his works were a great success during his lifetime."
